This privacy policy sets out how RIDE 2 RECOVERY (R2R) uses and protects any information that you give R2R when you use this website.

 

R2R is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. This policy was made to help you understand how R2R collects and uses your information. If we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using the website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

 

R2R may update this policy to better suit the needs of our participants. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are satisfied with any changes. If you do not agree or are not comfortable with any of the actions described in this policy (effective March 23, 2013), the solution is to discontinue use of the R2R website.

Other than simply browsing our website, there are a variety of other ways information may be collected from you as you use our website:

  • Making an online donation.
  • Registering and/or applying for an event.
  • Registering to volunteer.

We may collect the following information (personal and non-personal) that you choose to supply to R2R and non-personal information:

 Personal information

  • Contact information including mailing address and email address
  • Demographic information and personal information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • Other information pertaining to bikes
  • Cookies that help us recognize when you re-visit our website

Non-personal information

  • Session cookies to help you navigate through our site when you log into a password-only area such My Rider Page
  • IP address and browsing variables (e.g., domain from which you access the Internet, time you spend at our website, etc.)

  • Communicate with you to obtain your input, provide information on our programs and events, or request contributions.

  • Share information with our partners, affiliates, and other third parties who assist us with our organization and the programs within the organization. These vendors and service providers help us provide a better rider experience at events and help the functionality of our programs nationwide.

  • Reserve the right to use non-personal information, such as IP addresses, to identify a user when we feel it is necessary to protect the compelling interests of the website, donors, participants, or others to comply with laws, court orders, or law enforcement requests.

 

We do not share the following:

  • Donor e-mail addresses are not included in the list exchanges.

We are committed to accuracy and precision in processing your contribution information. We employ a variety of error-checking procedures, and our systems are subject to independent external and internal audits to ensure the privacy, security, and accurate processing of your information.

How we use cookies

The Honor Rides Series raises awareness and is the funding arm for Ride 2 Recovery and gives the public the opportunity to ride with healing heroes and enlisted military on a non-competitive, fun ride. Close to 20 Honor Rides will take place throughout the year, with varying distances from 10 to 100 miles. All funds raised through the Honor Ride Series support Project Hero programs throughout the US.

Support Project Hero

Ride 2 Recovery’s Project HERO (Healing Exercise Rehabilitation Opportunity) Provides training and support for community based programs. Begun in November 2010 at Bethesda Naval Medical Center (now Walter Reed National Military Medical Center), Project HERO has proven the effectiveness of group riding in the rehabilitation and recovery of injured servicemembers.

Special Events are meant to provide a rehabilitative experience for Healing Heroes that is similar to the Challenge Series but in a unique location with different and distinctive activities. Generally, these events require advanced fitness and abilities compared to the Challenge Series.
